Executive Team

Our executive team has deep software development, marketing, community, and finance experience in the consumer and wireless space.

CEO: Dr. Michael Robinson is an experienced internet community executive with over fifteen years building companies, managing people, and launching new products. Prior to co-founding IceBreaker, Michael served in Corporate Development and Strategy at Microsoft, ran the Wireless product unit for the Windows group, and was named Entrepreneur in Residence. Prior to Microsoft, Michael was a manager with McKinsey & Co. in the Chicago, Chinese and South East Asia offices before co-founding renren Media, a publicly traded internet company and pioneer in the Chinese community space.

CTO: Eric Hennings is a software development, architecture and user experience design expert and the co-founder of IceBreaker. A nine year Microsoft veteran, he was chosen to be Microsoft's first Entrepreneur in Residence. Eric has helped create many new Microsoft products including Internet Explorer, MSN Money, Microsoft Appointment Manager, Microsoft CRM and a new, not-yet-released Office application. Prior to Microsoft, Eric ran a technology consulting and development company specializing in cross-platform development for the Apple, Windows and Unix platforms.

Scott Blanksteen, VP Product Strategy Scott Blanksteen has over fifteen years of software, online, and mobile industry experience and an MBA in new product and business development.  Prior to joining IceBreaker, Scott spent nine years at Qpass, a pioneer and leader in the digital and mobile commerce markets, where he was variously responsible for product management, marketing, and corporate and business development, as well as the general manager of a new product unit.  Scott has worked and traveled extensively internationally and, as a software engineer, built text search, computer aided training, and web applications. 

CFO: David Laub has over twenty five years experience managing international and finance operations.  He spent fourteen years with the international accounting firm, Arthur Andersen.  David was recruited as President of the US operations and CFO worldwide for an international fishing company with operations in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa.  David also launched his own international fishing company and consulted with CFO Selections, helping high tech and telecommunications companies manage their international finance operations.

VP, Business Development: Tyler Davidson has 12+ years of wireless and data service industry experience.   Prior to IceBreaker, Tyler held senior corporate and business development roles at industry leading companies, including: Clearwire, AT&T, Nextel (now Sprint), XO Communications, and Teledesic.  Tyler's background includes significant overseas operations and strategic transaction experience in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. 

General Manager, Beijing Office: Stephen Yik leads our China office and has overall responsibility for Technical Design and Product Development. He has a deep background in object oriented system design and agile development and previously worked with Michael at renren. At renren he established the Beijing technical division and was responsible for launching the technical team there.
